In September we passed a new policy, called the Personal Device Policy. It applies to all employees who use their own electronic device, not owned or provided by the University, to access Technology Resources owned, managed, or otherwise provided by the University. In connection with this policy, certain security measures for Google were turned on at the first of the year.
If you are getting this error message, "Your organization requires you to have a password on your device. Please set one up and try again", it is because it goes against our new Personal Device Policy. If you plan to use your personal devices to access University's technology resources, your personal device will need a pin or password access control and a locked screen when inactive.
To find out about other requirements your personal device needs to access the University’s technology resources, please refer to the Personal Device Policy.
