All new online course developments go through the process outlined below. The Chair/Dean will notify Digital Learning Services about the course and the developer. DLS will reach out to the Developer and we will work together to produce a new online course with the steps below.
Step 1: Kick-Off Meeting
- Overview of the template, development process, and course development expectations, including recording.
Step 2: Draft Syllabus and Timeline
- Regular Zoom check-ins will be scheduled to stay on track with the development.
- Syllabus should be in draft form and draft of each unit’s resources.
- Recording lecture process and expectations.
- Lectures will be uploaded to Zoom Clips to be embedded into the course in 15 minute recording segments and captioned.
Step 3: Design Phase
- Develop Syllabus page and Getting Started page in Canvas.
- Develop Module 1 and review prior to continuing development.
- Develop remaining Modules.
- DLS review course with the Arcadia University Online Course Quality Rubric.
Step 4: Finalization
- Captions are finalized
- The course will open 1 week before the start date.
- DLS sends a completion email to the developer, dean, or chair.
