Windows Updates

Windows updates are currently managed by the IT Department according to best practices from Microsoft. What that means for you as an everyday user in the Arcadia environment is an easy and fully-automated process to help keep your device running smoothly and securely. Updates occur once a month, starting on Patch Tuesday, the second Tuesday of every month.

Users do NOT need to initiate the updates manually, as they will automatically install in a designated downtime (10 PM - 2 AM, every night) about one week from when they are first made available.

Updates can be initiated anytime after they are available by opening your settings menu, and navigating to the “Windows Update” section on the left hand side. Below is a screenshot of the page when there are no updates pending.
