Arcadia Community,
This is a reminder that we will be taking steps to implement technical controls that enforce requirements outlined in the University’s Personal Device Policy, specifically surrounding device security and ensuring devices are up to date. These changes will be taking place at the end of the day on Monday, June 29th.
We previously shared information regarding the University’s Personal Device Policy. A link to this policy within the University Policy Library can be found below:
https://www.arcadia.edu/about-arcadia/offices-facilities-services/office-general-counsel-secretary-university/university-policies/policy-library/personal-device-policy/
When changes are implemented, the following devices will be blocked from accessing Arcadia University Google Workspace resources (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, GChat, etc.):
- iOS Devices:
- Running outdated operating systems
- Harmful app detected
- Device is compromised
- Android OS Devices:
- Missing security
- Harmful app detected
- Device is compromised
You will have until the end of the day on Monday June 29th to take the following actions if your device falls into the above qualifiers:
- Update your operating system to the latest supported version
- Download and install any missing security patches
- Remove any harmful apps from your device
If you do not take steps to remediate issues on your device, your Arcadia account will automatically logout and will see a message similar to the one below when attempting to login to Google apps using your Arcadia account:
We have included links to documentation in order to help get you started with any device remediation you may need to complete:
